Restore your smile and improve jaw function with high-quality dentures designed for comfort and a natural appearance.

A denture is a removable appliance that replaces missing teeth, restoring oral function and eliminating the challenges caused by tooth loss. Dentures, also known as false teeth, are used to replace missing teeth in the upper and lower jaws.
At Blue House Dental, we offer full dentures to replace all upper or lower teeth—these consist of artificial teeth set in a gum-coloured base—and partial dentures to replace one or more missing teeth, using the remaining natural teeth for support.
Our dentures are crafted with precision using premium materials, including life-like gum-coloured acrylic bases and modern denture teeth, to ensure a natural and seamless look. Dentures are commonly made from acrylic resin or plastic for durability and a natural appearance.
Dentures are custom-made by a dental prosthetist in a dental clinic, ensuring a precise fit. The process of having dentures made involves several steps and appointments at the dental clinic. Dentures help restore oral health and function, making it easier to eat and maintain the health of your mouth.
There are different types of dentures available, including full, partial, and implant retained denture. They are designed to replace missing teeth and improve both appearance and the ability to eat comfortably.
Full or Complete Dentures
A full denture, also known as a complete denture, is ideal if all teeth in your upper or lower jaw have been extracted or are missing.
For patients who need to have all their teeth removed, we provide an immediate denture, which is created before your procedure and placed right after the teeth are removed.

The immediate denture helps protect the gums and bone during the healing process. It may take a few months for your gums and bone to heal fully, and during this time, adjustments to the immediate denture may be necessary as the tissues settle.
Once healing is complete, we will begin the process of fitting your final denture for optimal comfort and function.
Partial Dentures
A partial denture is a removable device designed to replace one or more missing teeth.
Partial dentures are secured using metal clasps that attach to the remaining natural teeth for added stability.

Alternatively, precision metal attachments can be used, fitting into dental crowns to hold the dentures securely in place. Partial dentures rely on the support of natural teeth and remaining teeth in the mouth.
In most cases, adjacent teeth need to be modified, either to support metal clasps or to be crowned for precision attachments.
Partial dentures can be made from plastic, offering a lightweight and cost-effective option. Partial dentures provide a reliable and comfortable solution for filling gaps in your smile.
Denture fitting process
Creating and fitting dentures requires several visits to Blue House Dental to ensure the best results.
- Before the final product is made, you’ll have the chance to preview your dentures during a wax “try-in” stage.
- This process allows you to see how the denture teeth look and feel on a pink wax base, giving you the opportunity to request adjustments before the final acrylic version is crafted.
- Dentists and dental prosthetists work together during this stage to ensure the best fit for your dentures.
- Once your dentures are fitted, it’s important to allow time to adjust to them.
When wearing dentures for the first time, you may experience an adjustment period as your mouth adapts to the new denture.
Starting with soft foods can help make this transition easier and more comfortable. Follow up appointments are essential after getting a new denture to ensure proper fit and comfort while wearing dentures. Some patients may benefit from using denture adhesive or denture glue for added stability, especially with full dentures.
Denture care and maintenance
Daily cleaning is crucial for maintaining your dentures and oral health. Use a brush to clean your dentures, gums, and tongue, and make sure to clean the soft tissues in your mouth.
Clean your dentures with mild soap and water instead of toothpaste, as toothpaste can scratch the surface. At night, remove your dentures to give your mouth and gums a rest, and store them in a container filled with water to maintain their shape and hygiene.
